30Participation of His Excellency the Secretary-General in the10th Anniversary Celebration of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies %u2013 27 October 2025Association of Arab UniversitiesHis Excellency Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, participated in the celebration marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies in the State of Qatar. In his remarks, His Excellency extended sincere congratulations to the Institute%u2019s administration, faculty, and students, emphasizing that this occasion represents an important opportunity to reffiect on the future of graduate studies in the Arab world and the means to keep pace with the rapid global transformations in education and scientific research.His Excellency highlighted that the Arab region possesses the necessary capabilities to emerge as a regional hub for scientific and research excellence. He reviewed the efforts of the Association of Arab Universities in building a unified Arab higher education space and in strengthening academic partnerships and cooperation among universities through joint programs and initiatives. He also underscored the importance of linking scientific research to societal needs and public policy-making, as well as developing governance and quality assurance systems, including ongoing work toward an Arab Charter on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education.In conclusion, Prof. Salama aflrmed that Arab universities possess the expertise and potential to act as drivers of innovation and development. He called for expanding scientific partnerships and developing joint initiatives to advance the system of graduate studies and scientific research across the Arab world.The participation of the Association of Arab Universities in this important academic event reaflrms its continued commitment to supporting high-impact academic initiatives among member universities and strengthening research cooperation with regional and international institutions, thereby contributing to the development of educational and research environments capable of keeping pace with global change.
