34AArU Executive Director Chairs the Roundtable Meeting of University Presidents at the QS Arab Forum 2025Association of Arab UniversitiesAArU Executive Director Chairs the Roundtable Meeting of University Presidents at the QS Arab Forum 2025The Association of Arab Universities (AArU) participated in the QS Arab Forum 2025, held in the Sultanate of Oman under the theme %u201cThe Road Ahead: Charting the Arab Region%u2019s Next Chapter%u201d, organized by QS and graciously hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation and Sultan Qaboos University.The Association was represented by Prof. Anas Ratib Alsoud, Executive Director of AArU, who chaired the Presidents%u2019 Roundtable Session, with the participation of a distinguished group of Arab university leaders. The session addressed key issues and future challenges facing higher education in the Arab region.Prof. Alsoud co-chaired the session alongside Mr. Ben Sowter, Senior Vice President of QS, and in the presence of Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Executive Director for Africa, Middle East, and South Asia at QS.Participants discussed a range of topics, including mechanisms to strengthen Arab collaboration in innovation, scientific research, and artificial intelligence, aligning academic programs with future labor market needs, and building sustainable international partnerships that enhance the global presence of Arab universities.The forum forms part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at enhancing integration and cooperation between Arab and global universities, contributing to the advancement of higher education and scientific research across the region.
