Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, participated in the 11th International Conference on the Arabic Language, held from 22 to 24 October 2025, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which also hosted the presentation of the Mohamed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award.In his speech at the conference, the Secretary-General praised the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, as well as his continuous support for Arabic language initiatives. He highlighted that the Mohamed bin Rashid Award has become the largest and most prestigious award in the history of the Arabic language, recognizing the outstanding contributions of individuals and institutions in serving the language. He also commended Dubai%u2019s role as a global example in leveraging technology to support cultural and linguistic identity in the digital era.The Secretary-General emphasized that the Arabic language has, throughout the centuries, been a vessel of thought, science, and human creativity, contributing to the transmission of knowledge in medicine, chemistry, astronomy, engineering, and philosophy to the world. Today, more than 470 million people speak Arabic, it is the oflcial language of 22 countries, the language of worship for nearly two billion Muslims, and is taught in over 1,900 universities worldwide, including Harvard, Oxford, and the Sorbonne, reffiecting its growing cultural and intellectual significance globally.The Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities Participates in the 11th International Conference on the Arabic Language and the Mohamed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award in DubaiAssociation of Arab Universities 36
