Professor Amal Hawari moderated the first session, titled \Between Safety and Risks %u2013 The Gap of Protection and Responsibility\during which Judge Fatima Majed discussed the mechanisms for the legal protection of children in Lebanon. Professor Taghreed Al-Abdallah presented the role of international organizations in supporting at-risk children, while Professor Charlotte Tanios offered insights into the challenges facing protection programs and the ways to develop them.The second session, titled \Between Rights and Vulnerability %u2013 The Dialectics of Empowerment and Reality\Talal Malaeb. Professor Rajwa Fitroni discussed community initiatives supporting women's rights, Dr. Sanaa Nimer provided an analysis of the gap between legislation and practical implementation, and Professor Charlotte Khalil spoke about the psychological aspects and challenges faced by women in unstable environments.The conference concluded with a set of recommendations stressing the need to strengthen laws concerning child protection and women%u2019s empowerment and to activate the mechanisms for their implementation. It also called for expanding cooperation between academic institutions and social organizations, developing training programs to better equip social work professionals with more effective tools, and integrating social work strategies into sustainable development plans to ensure broader and more lasting impact.The conference reflected the commitment of the Modern University for Business and Science and its partners to fostering scientific dialogue on urgent social issues and provided an ideal platform for exchanging ideas and solutions between academics and practitioners.
