Association of Arab Universities 37Launching the Initiative to Establisha Support Fund for Higher EducationInstitutions in PalestineAs part of the proceedings of the 57th General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), held from April 23%u201324, 2025, at Kuwait International University, the Association announced the launch of an initiative to establish a Support Fund for Higher Education Institutions in Palestine. This initiative reffiects the Association%u2019s leading role in supporting the causes of the Arab nation and in promoting solidarity and cooperation among higher education institutions across the Arab world.The initiative aims to empower students in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to continue their educational and academic journeys, while alleviating the ffnancial challenges they face, thereby strengthening their resilience and ensuring their right to education like students everywhere.The initiative will be implemented on two levels:The Association calls upon all member universities to actively participate in this humanitarian and educational initiative, extending their support to students and faculty members in Palestine, in a spirit of shared responsibility and Arab academic solidarity.For further information or inquiries, please contact: Mrs. Lina Al-Bitar / Director of the General Administration, Association of Arab Universitiessecgen@aaru.edu.jo+962 797001403%u2022 Level One: Student-to-Student Support %u2013 through adding a symbolic fee to the tuition ranging between 1%u201310 USD per semester, for one academic year.%u2022 Level Two: Support for Academic and Administrative Staffl %u2013 through a voluntary deduction from salaries ranging between 1%u20132% per month, for one academic year.
