Association of Arab Universities 32Visit of the Secretary General of theAssociation of Arab Universities to the Islamic University of LebanonOn Monday, 29 September 2025, H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, paid an offlcial visit to the Islamic University of Lebanon, where he was received by the University President, Prof. Hassan Lakiss.During the meeting, discussions focused on key issues related to the current state of higher education in the Arab region, particularly the challenges facing universities in light of rapid academic, technological, and societal transformations. The two sides also explored opportunities to further advance Arab higher education, enhance academic and research cooperation, and promote the exchange of expertise among member universities of the Association. These efforts aim to foster academic excellence, innovation, and greater contributions to sustainable development.This visit comes within the framework of the Association%u2019s ongoing efforts to strengthen communication with its member universities and to consolidate strategic partnerships, thereby reinforcing the role of Arab universities as key drivers of progress and development at both the regional and international levels.H.E. the Secretary General was accompanied during the visit by Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director of Administration at the Association of Arab Universities, and Ms. Dina Mahmoud, Coordinator of the Association%u2019s Institutional Activities.
