Association of Arab Universities 17During the meeting, Dr. Anas Alsoud presented the vision of H.E. Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, regarding the structure and objectives of this Arab initiative launched by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and adopted by the Council of Arab Ministers of Higher Education.Prof. Dr. Walid Salameh delivered a detailed presentation outlining the initiative%u2019s goals, expected outcomes, and potential implementation challenges. Participants discussed practical proposals and mechanisms to ensure the initiative%u2019s success and the achievement of its objectives.At the conclusion of the meetings, participants agreed on several next-phase implementation steps, including that the Association of Arab Universities will select a group of Arab universities to participate in the pilot phase of the initiative. The initiative is scheduled to be formally presented during the meeting of the Arab Ministers of Higher Education in December 2025, as part of the 20th session of the Conference, in preparation for its oflcial launch as one of the most significant joint Arab initiatives in advancing higher education and regional integration.The Association of Arab Universities reaflrmed the importance of joint cooperation and coordination among all Arab stakeholders in higher education to ensure the initiative%u2019s success and realize its vision of establishing a unified Arab Higher Education Area%u2014one that strengthens academic quality, supports scientific and student mobility, and enhances integration among Arab higher-education institutions.
