Association of Arab Universities 09This visit comes within the framework of the Association of Arab Universities%u2019 support for the University of Benghazi, and also serves as a preparatory step for the university%u2019s hosting of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities in April 2027, reinforcing Libya%u2019s historic role in the journey of the Association.It is noteworthy that the University of Benghazi, established in 1955 as the first university in Libya, is a founding member of the Association of Arab Universities since 1964, and has, for decades, contributed significantly to state-building in Libya through the preparation of generations of graduates and national expertise.H.E. the Secretary-General emphasized that the current renaissance and reconstruction witnessed at the University of Benghazi stand as a testimony to the strength of will and the deep belief in the role of higher education in rebuilding nations and shaping the future.
