University of Tunis El Manar

The University of Tunis El Manar is a public institution of an administrative nature created in 1987 under the name "University of Sciences, Techniques and Medicine of Tunis" by article 97 of law no. 87-83 of December 31, 1987. It had its current name according to decree no. 2000-2826 of November 27, 2000, concerning the change of name of universities.

Bringing together the oldest and most prestigious higher education and research institutions in Tunisia, UTM offers high-quality training programs that are responsive to societal needs and multidisciplinary (fundamental sciences and engineering techniques, humanities, political, legal and economic sciences, medical and paramedical sciences).

Comprising the largest number of research structures at the national level, UTM is both strong and influential through quality research that covers the most varied fields (health, water, environment, energy, etc.) and is in line with the research strategy at the national and international level.

• To meet the country's training needs, produce and disseminate knowledge, and develop skills in various fields.
• To develop knowledge, master technology and promote it through research and encourage innovation, individual and collective creation in the different fields of knowledge.
• To ensure scientific, educational and administrative coordination between the institutions under its jurisdiction.
• To participate in the country's development initiatives, support various sectors of national activity, and prepare students for the creation of economic projects and businesses.
• Encourage cultural, sporting and social activities.
• Establish partnership and cooperation links with similar organizations around the world with a view to establishing joint degrees, jointly supervising research leading to university degrees, exchanging experts and expertise and carrying out joint research related to development priorities.
