King Saud University
History
King Saud University (KSU) was established as the first Saudi University by Royal Decree No. (17) dated 13/11/1957. The first college that began was the College of Arts, followed by the College of Science, and then the other colleges. The administrative organization of the university received high attention, as the fundamental regulations governing its system were established through the issuance of three royal decrees related to its statutes. Since 2021, King Saud University has started a transformation phase to become an independent nonprofit academic institution under the authority of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. KSU is keen on strengthening local and international partnerships with academic institutions, research centers, and the private sector. KSU recognizes the crucial role that collaboration and knowledge exchange play in creating an integrated educational system that keeps pace with change and fosters sustainable development. After all, innovation and excellence are at the heart of our priorities. KSU supports national talents, empowers researchers and creative minds, and enthusiastically promotes an inspiring educational environment that shapes an aware and capable generation that effectively contributes to the nation’s bright future.

King Saud University is the largest university in Saudi Arabia, and part of its mission is to provide distinguished education and produce innovative research that serves the community. Moreover, it contributes to building a knowledge economy by creating an environment that stimulates learning, intellectual creativity, optimal use of technology, and effective local and global partnerships. There are 24 colleges that cover all medical, science, engineering, arts, and humanities studies. KSU includes three university hospitals and many specialized research centers and institutes. تاريخ الجامعة
تأسست جامعة الملك سعود كأول جامعة سعودية بموجب المرسوم الملكي رقم (17) بتاريخ 13/11/1957م. وكانت البداية بكلية الآداب، ثم تلتها كلية العلوم وباقي الكليات. وقد حظيت البنية الإدارية للجامعة باهتمام كبير، إذ وُضعت الأنظمة الأساسية المنظمة لعملها من خلال صدور ثلاثة مراسيم ملكية خاصة بنظامها.
ومنذ عام 2021م بدت الجامعة في مرحلة تحول لتصبح مؤسسة أكاديمية مستقلة غير ربحية، تحت إشراف الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض. وتحرص جامعة الملك سعود على تعزيز شراكاتها المحلية والدولية مع المؤسسات الأكاديمية، ومراكز الأبحاث، والقطاع الخاص، إدراكًا منها للدور المحوري الذي تمثله الشراكة وتبادل المعرفة في بناء منظومة تعليمية متكاملة تواكب التغيرات وتعزز مسيرة التنمية المستدامة. وتضع الجامعة الابتكار والتميّز في صميم أولوياتها، حيث تعمل على رعاية الكفاءات الوطنية، وتمكين الباحثين وأصحاب الإبداع، وتعزيز بيئة تعليمية محفزة وملهمة تسهم في إعداد جيل واعٍ وقادر على الإسهام الفعّال في صناعة مستقبل الوطن المشرق.
